i know it's like years subsequently and most definitely irrelevant, just everytime i revisit the bokumachi/erased tag, i always see the "Kayo should've waited" argument or "She should've concluded up with Satoru" and ohohOHOo! does it fill me with frustration.
I call back it'south a bespeak that definitely flies over near people's head when they first sentry the show, merely Satoru never wanted to terminate up with Kayo.
His whole reasoning for saving her, Hiromi, and Aya was to provide them with the chance of living a fulfilling life, changing their futures and helping them detect a semblance of hope and joy that they didn't accept in the original timeline.
Kayo and Hiromi were the main ones to realize that, it's implied in the scene where Kayo visits Satoru with Mirai, and they did. They lived their lives the best they could while remembering that Satoru gave them that chance.
The manga definitely gives a more in-depth perspective of this. There was never meant to be any actual romance, beside the subtle implications of Satoru and Airi, but even then that had been a dissimilar circumstance, 1 where Satoru had admired and trusted Airi for giving him the much needed button for his determination and resolve.

I've watched the ninth episode of "The Town Where Only I am Missing". (Spoilers!) Kayo is finally saved. At least from her mother (who didn't just like that became a woman who beats children she also had an awful abuser in her life). Now Satoru gets to the side by side betoken – rescuing Hiromi and dealing with a maniac.

Alt universe where Satoru's mom adopted Kayo and Satoru never went into a coma,, merely everyone all the same lived. Also I count this as a Kayo & Satoru instead of a Kayo x Hiromi considering it'south nevertheless mainly focusing on Satoru beingness a protective brother and and then existence adoptive siblings.
Satoru grinned as he stretched his arms upwards over his head, looking over as Kayo entered the house. He jumps up to greet her, and her boyfriend, his close friend, Hiromi.
"You treating my little sis overnice?" He hummed, Hiromi smiling nervously and nodding.
"O-Of cour-"
"Hey, where do you go trivial sis from huh? We have the same birthday." Kayo huffs, bonking Satoru on the head. "You're an idiot."
"Ouchie, Kayo no hitting! I'll tell mom." Satoru teased, despite existence twenty nine years old.
"Not if I get to her first and lie!"
In that location was a moment of silence between the adoptive siblings, Hiromi looking between them nervously before Kayo raced forwards, Satoru rushing after her.
"Mom!" They yell together, Sachiko peeking out of her room before Kayo got to her.
"Satoru was-"
"Kayo hit-" they both started before Sachiko laughed and shook her head.
"You 2. Behave. Yous accept a invitee right, Kayo?"
"Oh! Yeah! Hiromi!" She called, the male walking out into the hallway. "We have special news!" She smiles. "Hiromi?"
"O-Oh! Nosotros're getting married. I mean, if that's okay with y'all.. I'd really similar to ally your daughter."
"Oh shush. She doesn't take much of a choice." Kayo smiles softly. "I'grand pregnant." Immediately Sachiko and Satoru's optics were on Hiromi who backed up slightly.
"Thursday-think of it this manner, it's another beautiful life to be-"
"Cut the shit." Satoru frowned as he walked forward. When he got to Hiromi he grinned brightly, wrapping his arms effectually his shoulders. "You lot're hella lucky nosotros were all friends when we were younger! Anyone else and I would've killed em!"
"He makes you happy Kayo?" Sachiko hummed, the girl nodding.
"Yep.." she smiled softly, looking at her adoptive brother so at her soon to be husband. "He makes me very happy."
"Then it's settled..." Sachiko smiled. "Welcome to the family, Hiromi."
